MusicaNova Orchestra, under the direction of Music Director and principal conductor Warren Cohen, presents J. S. Bach’s great Eastertide oratorio St. John Passion in one performance on the afternoon of Palm Sunday, March 25, 2018, at Scottsdale Presbyterian Church.
The chorus will comprise a total of 16 highly skilled singers (4 x SATB), including five soloists (SATBB), who will sing selected arias, recits, choruses, and chorales from the work in English, from the the New Novello Choral Edition (2003). The audience will be invited to join in singing the hymn-like chorales. Daniel Kurek will serve as chorus master, and will sing the role of the Evangelist.
