The acclaimed orchestra performs with students from Jill Osborne’s symphony orchestra program at Tempe High School for two FREE concerts for the Tempe community.
Student musicians will play side by side with some of the top professional musicians in the Valley, with intensive rehearsals throughout the fall and spring semesters. Their work will be showcased in two performances with MusicaNova Orchestra:
The Intangible Heritage: Mariachi Inspired Symphonic Music,
Monday, April 24, 2017
Both performances will be held at Tempe High School Auditorium, 1730 South Mill Avenue, beginning at 7:00 PM. Admission is free, donations will be accepted.
Ms. Osborne’s phenomenal program at Tempe High has grown 400% in the past five years, developing classical musicians through its strings and winds program. MusicaNova Orchestra will function as Artists in Residence at Tempe High during the 2016-2017 school year. The program includes “peer teaching artists” from MusicaNova’s Young Artists Program, all under 18 years of age who will work, rehearse and perform with the musicians from Tempe High.
“This partnership with Jill and her amazing program and Tempe High is a wonderful opportunity for our musicians to work side by side with these incredible kids. The exchange of ideas, energies and talents will culminate in stunning concerts which we will perform free for the Tempe community. It will be like a beautiful dance.” – Warren Cohen, Music Director MusicaNova Orchestra
