Sarah Zhao, 13, is an 8th grader at Renaissance Gifted and Music Academy in Highland Lake School. She began learning piano at age of 5 and currently studies with Mrs. Snezana Krstic.   Sarah participated in many competitions in the Valley. Among her awards are 1st place winner of the Phoenix Music Teacher Association’s Elder Piano Competition from 2013 to 2015, and 2nd place winner of the Arizona State Music Teachers Association Honors Recital in 2015. Besides playing piano, Sarah enjoys playing violin and is a member of the Phoenix Youth Symphony since 2013. Sarah also loves reading, math, ballet, painting/drawing, and various sports. In 2015, Sarah was invited to become a member of the “Study of Exceptional Talents” at John Hopkins Center for Talent Youth.

Micah Porter is 12 years old.  Micah enjoys competing and performing and was most recently the first place winner at the 2015 East Valley Music Teachers Association piano competition.   He attends school at home with a combination of online classes, group classes, and home education.  Besides playing the piano, Micah enjoys singing, swimming, tumbling, and time with friends and family.  Micah began his piano studies at the age of 8 with Brandon Stewart and currently studies with MusicaNova Young Artists Coordinator Hong Zhu in Chandler, AZ.
