Daniel Walker

I am Daniel Walker. I was born in Mesa, Arizona. I’m 15, the youngest of five children including three sisters and one brother.

My interests are playing the flute and the piano, singing, composing music, art, academics and hanging out with my music friends. I have two cats and a dog.

I started playing the flute in the 6th grade at age eleven with the band at my elementary school. It was very difficult to learn how to play the flute, but I soon figured it out on my own. Later the next year, I began taking flute lessons.

I played the flute in the Metropolitan Youth Symphony during my seventh and eighth grade years where I was the first chair both years.

Last year as a freshman, I sang bass in the East Valley Millennial Choirs and Orchestra and was able to perform in Carnegie Hall.

As a freshman, I performed in the Wind Ensemble at Campo Verde High School in Gilbert AZ. I also participated in the Regional Band competition and took first place in flute. I also participated in All State Band the same year.

This is my second year in the band program at Campo Verde. I began playing in the marching band this year and have really enjoyed it. In fact, our marching band took first place in the 3A division competition in the state and we finished third overall in the grand championship competition.

This year as a sophomore, I still perform with the Wind Ensemble. I am still the first chair and love performing with the band and sharing my musical talent.

Also this year, I was also selected to perform with the Phoenix Youth Symphony. With this symphony, I get to perform at a high level and share my music with the Phoenix area community.

Needless to say, I am passionate about music and always strive to play my very best!
